Best way to see Cologne and understand more about Kolsh

Stephan was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and had a clear passion for the famous Cologne beer. Add it to your itinerary if you love beer and learning about the city and the culture that has invented Kölsh.
Great introduction to Cologne

Let me stress one point: Take this tour on your first day in Cologne! In addition to providing fun and interesting facts about the city, Michael (our guide) was incredibly helpful in giving us suggestions about places to see, eat, and avoid. I was thankful to have a native's perspective on where to spend my time. And, of course, the tour is composed of his personal picks for the best kölsch beers in the city, with some fun cultural stops along the way.

Did this with two of my closest girl friends. We wanted to do something different in Cologne and learn about beer and the culture. Karla was hands down the best. She made us feel comfortable about asking questions and was able to answer them all! KOLSH BEER! After the tour Karla and Micheal took my friends and myself to another bar and continued to teach us about the culture. Super down to earth! Ask Micheal about the dice game! Haha loser buys the round 😉. Thank you COLOGNE, THE KOLSH GUYS, AND KARLA!!

We had a large group which Stefan handled with ease. He took us on the tour as per the description but also added history about the area. He was always planning the next venue to suit the group, this flexibility helps to build the right tour for the group. He took us to a 5th bar as a recommendation to start our night from, Stefan also stayed here for a while with us and added to to fun. Great guide, great tour!
Great way to get a real feel for Cologne

My Wife and I took a tour while we were in Cologne on our honeymoon and was by far our favorite activity we did there. Anci, our tour guide, was not only very knowledgeable about Kolsch beer but was also extremely passionate about her city and its history. Definitely a must do if you're visiting Cologne.
Fantastic night out with a fun and informative host

We did the tour on a Saturday night as a couple. There was another American couple in the group, and 4 Dutch guys. Quite a mixed audience and our host, Michael, made sure we were all having fun. I can definitely recommend the tour and will do it again, when I'm back in Cologne. He brought us to 4 different pubs, where we always had a table for us, regardless of how busy the pub was. While trying out several different Koelsch beers, Michael talked a bit about Cologne, and the beers, but not in a typical tourist-guide style. He was very natural, threw in a joke here and there, and he often engaged the group with funny stories. The way he does it sparks a conversation in the rest of the group and after a few Koelsch we were all sharing some fun stories to each other. The 'tour' quickly turned into a fun night out with some new friends. Michael also took care of the practicalities, like ordering, paying, and guiding us through the city to the next pub. We just had to focus on drinking the Koelsch and having a laugh with the rest of the group. My wife is pregnant, so Michael always made sure she had something non-alcoholic to drink as well.
